2020 Gift Guide

Are people asking you what you want for Christmas & you're clueless? Or are you stuck trying to find the perfect gift for someone? Check out some of my favorite health & wellness gift ideas below!

Fitness

We have all learned this year that having fitness equipment at home is a must! Some of these ideas below are non-transportable, so they're strictly for home. Though, most can be used both at home and in a gym!

A large mat will create an even, padded surface to workout on. Large mats are more versatile than a small yoga mat and allow for larger, multi-plane movements (think an squat to side lunge, you can't do that and stay on a yoga mat!)

I put both a smaller dumbbell set & the Bowflex on here because they're two very different price points & you/ your recipient may not need something that goes as heavy as the Bowflex. You gotta know your recipient to know what they have and then determine what else you can add to their home gym! Also, don't limit to just dumbbells, kettlebells & barbells are also great options!

Great for toning/strengthening the core! These sliders are very versatile and will spice up any workout!

Using a BOSU ball is perfect for increasing the difficulty of standard moves. This is great for someone looking to increase exercise intensity and proprioception.

These have been a quarantine life saver for me. I do not only use these as ankle weights, I use them other ways as well. Check out my instagram to see for yourself!

Because recovery is just as important (if not more so) than the work you put in!

Versatile & easy to transport. Great for at home & the gym!

TRX trainers utilize gravity & bodyweight for a total body workout. This system can either increase or decrease difficulty pending how you/ the recipient wants to perform an exercise!

For The Person Who Loves Sleep:

We all know that you should get at least 8 hours of sleep a night, but how many people take into account the quality of that sleep? Some of these products below can help improve the quality of ZZZs so you or your recipient will wake up feeling refreshed!

Links:

Blue light can mess with your circadian rhythm in the worst way! If you (or your partner) use technology up until bed time, these will help to prevent sleep cycle disruptions and leave you feeling more refreshed after a night of ZZZs.

Sound machine, light & alarm clock all in one! I think the best feature of this product is the sunrise light. About a half an hour before your wake time, the clock will start to light up mimicking a sunrise. As said above, your body is sensitive to light, however, because this mimics a sunrise it works with your natural rhythm to wake your body up. This is great for someone looking to have a more restorative sleep experience!

The Oura ring tracks your pulse, movement & temperature to give you three daily scores: sleep, readiness & activity. This is an incredible gift for someone who wants insight into their sleeping patterns and personalized data & tips to get the best night of sleep!

We just talked about not letting blue light disrupt your sleep, but any light leaks can also disrupt your sleep. Eye masks will be an extra guard to make sure a beautiful night of rest does not get interrupted.

Skip the lavender spray, buy the pillow with lavender already in infused in it!

If you or someone special does not already have a diffuser, this is the perfect gift for them! A great gift is something that can be used on the daily and this one certainly can be! I specifically picked the Young Living Lavender as they are known for pure essential oils (definitely something to consider!)

I swear by a weighted blanket. They are so incredibly comforting and nothing beats crawling into bed and putting that weighted blanket over you and knocking out! Make sure you look at weight recommendations when buying, you do not want it to be too light or too heavy!

For The Book Nerd:

Note: Audio books are also never a bad option!

Self-Development Books:

Self-development books are all the rage right now! There are hundreds of self-development books that have changed thousands of people's lives, just take a quick look on Amazon. If you or your recipient are looking to elevate their life, these books are just the start! The top three I've read, the bottom three are on my personal Christmas list this year.

Fiction Books:

Maybe you or your recipient aren't all that into self-development and would rather read something that immerses you in a whole new world. No problem, check out these options below!

Smart Fitness

Smart technology is taking over the market! We live in an age where everyone wants to be in the know, everyone wants things to be easier/less time consuming and everyone wants things personalized. Fitness trackers are the perfect way to deliver these three keys.

*Please take into consideration that some people may be triggered by certain items such as fitness trackers & scales. Be aware and please take this into consideration when purchasing these items!

Links:

This scale is going to provide all of the measurements, BMI, muscle mass, hydration level, bone mass, and so much more! It gives 17 measurements overall which then sync to your phone so you have a historical measurement of these individual stats. Great for someone looking for more than just the weight on a scale, you can track muscle growth, fat loss, etc.

There are definitely days when we need a reminder to hydrate! If you or a loved one need that reminder a little more often, the hidrate is a great gift! It syncs with your phone to track your daily water intake and lights up when you need to be reminded to take a sip!

Food tracking is about to get a whole lot easier with this device! It accesses the UDSA's database for quick information and data can directly import into a phone. Handwritten food journals are a thing of the past. If someone is currently tracking their food with a regular scale, this is an awesome gift for an upgrade!

This device really caught my eye. This tracker not only tracks your UV exposure, but also other environmental "aggressors", such as pollen & humidity. It then gives you personalized advice for better skin habits. Our skin is the largest organ we have, its so important to take care of it!

Raise your hand if you are guilty of poor posture. Most likely, your hand just went up. This monitor will inform the wearer to sit up when they start slouching and lead to long-term posture improvements. Wouldn't you love for neck/back pain to go away?

In my opinion, you do not need the newest version of the Apple Watch. I have had the series 2 for years and it does everything it needs to. Though the series 2 has since been discontinued, you can still save money by getting the series 3! Save money if you or the recipient are not into the high-end features.

This is a device that I just discovered while searching for tech devices and it stood out. This little device tracks your digestive health by analyzing the hydrogen in your breath (hydrogen created from fermentation in the large intestine). You can also add on a kit to test the digestion of FODMAPs. This is not a well-known product so it would make a phenomenal gift for someone who is very health conscious!

Sorry (no I'm not) but I had to add this one in! Anyone who knows me knows that I am Peloton obsessed!! My boyfriend's family had one and I loved riding it when I was over, so I made the investment for my very own! Peloton is an interactive fitness bike that brings the experience of group cycling right into the convenience of your own home! I do understand that this is a pricy investment for a gift but if you are serious about making an at home health investment, this is a phenomenal option.

If you are looking for a lower budget alternative to this, there are two Peloton Membership options. You could opt to invest in the lower tiered membership as a gift and the recipient can enjoy a host of fitness classes (lifting, yoga, meditation, barre, stretching, running).

Someone Pelo-Obsessed!

Please refer to my obsession declared above. I can't help it guys, I love Peloton! And if someone in your life has one, you've probably heard about their obsession too! These are some great options to get this person! If you or your loved one has a different fitness bike, you can take some of these ideas & find other products that fit your bike!

*Some Peloton specific products have not yet come out for the Peloton+ Bike, make sure to check which bike the gift receiver has before buying!

For the person who wants to workout and get sh*t done at the same time.

Great for any Peloton/bike rider, but especially one who is interested in Power Zone classes! This heart rate monitor can connect directly to a Peloton as well!

Great for hands free phone calls, watching a video/Netflix while riding on free mode

Sure, you could buy Peloton apparel, thought I think the stuff you find on Etsy has more personality and comes in at a less expensive price! Some of my other favorite shirts I found:

There was a huge investment put into this bike, you do not want to risk any accidents!

For those people who either:

A) Already don't have a fan near there Peloton or

B) Forget to turn on the fan until your 5 minutes into your ride and you can't up-clip and you have to suffer through the sweat for 25+ minutes (AKA me every time I ride...you would think I'd learn)

Esthetically pleasing and keeps people from tripping over shoes. Really, what more can you ask for?

Because some people feel more comfortable working out without the idea that someone may be watching you while you work out (Peloton technology is very safe I'm sure, some people just like the added comfort, ya know?)

When using a towel on the bike, if its on the handle bars it can get in the way and if you hang it on the screen its in the way. This is a great option to prevent this! It is also great to hold your bulky headphones when you are not on the bike!
